Problem with Netmask resetting to 0

Well... I used to work in the GNOME enviroment with ubuntu 9.04 jaunty jackalope... and now I try Kubuntu 9.04. And my biggest problem with this nice distro is that when i want to set up the internet connection, and I type the netmask(255.255.255.0) IT RESETS TO 0 WHEN I APPLY ( Here are my internet settings provided by the provider :
    Ip adress: 10.10.10.34
SubNet mask: 255.255.255.0 ---> i am pretty sure that is the same thing with netmask
    Deafult Gateway: 10.10.10.100
    DNS Server: 10.10.10.1
Like I said... I type in all the stuff in the network manager but when i apply the settings the netmask resets to 0, and I am unable to connect to the Internet... ( Please help me I never had this problem in GNOME and i really like this KDE enviroment...

Lots of folks have problems with the network manager and static Ip addresses. Try this:
