Re: Network on A toshiba protégé M800-104
Okay this is getting boring
I went back to detonates post:
http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3100052.0
and followed it to the dot.
except I created /etc/resolv.conf file to reflect to one I have on my desktop.
same modem / domain so no problem (I hope)
Now when I do:
I get:
On my desktop:
route
Kernel-IP-Routentabelle
Ziel Router Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
When I do:
It gets to the first line:
0% (connecting to ch.archive.ubuntu.com)......
and hangs for a long time and then goes on to tell me it could fetch anything.
I supose I am missing this:
respective to my lappy.
So I guess I am making progress here
Edit:
Progress stoped when I tried this:
Qoute from mondo:
route shows:
In other words: Nada
Had to do a network restart to get back to "normal".

Then try
. If it says eth0 already configured run
If you still get that message run
You need to run the second one before network-manager has a chance to mess with it.
At that point ifconfig should show an IP address for eth0 and
should show a default route to 192.168.0.1 and you should be able to ping your modem.
Code:
ifup eth0
Code:
ifdown eth0 ifup eth0
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down ifup eth0
At that point ifconfig should show an IP address for eth0 and
Code:
route
Kernel-IP Routen Tabelle
