Re: Sound missing from some applications - still struggling with audio
I am missing sound in Skype. That will probably have to be some kind of OSS plugin.
I do not have sound through ALSA from VLC, Flash or Twhirl (Adobe Air app) And there will probably be more as time passes.
Skype is VERY silent. The other applications seem to be using pulseaudio (based on the bzz in the lodspeakers when there should have been sound). So I need to get pulseaudio working right as well as getting Skype audio to work.
I have no idea what the Xine backend is doing. To me it looks (and sounds, by the name) that it has to do with video.
