Please, has anyone compiled a Kubuntu Intrepid version of the latest stable version, Bibletime 1.7?

Better Boolean searching for one, KDE4 support for another.

BibleTime 1.7 has finally been released! After almost two years of work we have ported BibleTime to KDE 4 with almost all the old features and tons of fixes

      ----------------------------------------------------------

Search dialog has an option for AND and OR searches.
Which is useful for those who haven't memorized the entire scripture yet, or for things easily overlooked.

Searching Bibletime from the PPA /1/ repositories > Show PPAs matching: bibletime

There are 1.7~beta3 and 1.7rc1 for the Intrepid

Running Kubuntu 9.04 updated to KDE 4.2.1

            Bibletime works great!

It comes with an Arabic bible preinstalled. One has to "sudo bibiletime" in konsole to remove it.

              Re: Bibletime 1.7

Thanks for your replies. Apparently, no one has successfully installed Bibletime 1.7 to Intrepid 8.10 since the only success reported was with the Kubuntu 9.04 which I understand is still in beta. Guess, I will have to be content with Bibletime 1.6.5 for awhile longer.

              Thanks,
              Jim

                Re: Bibletime 1.7

I'm running Bibletime 1.7 with no problems in Intrepid. I installed it using the following repository at https://launchpad.net/~dmitrij.ledkov/+archive/ppa

                Code:
                deb [url]http://ppa.launchpad.net/dmitrij.ledkov/ppa/ubuntu[/url] intrepid main
                There is also:
                Code:
                deb [url]http://ppa.launchpad.net/jmarsden/ppa/ubuntu[/url] intrepid main
which seems even more up to date. Find the source info here: https://launchpad.net/~jmarsden/+archive/ppa

                  Re: Bibletime 1.7

                  Nate,

Thanks to the links you have provided, I am now running the new Bibletime 2.0 alpha 2 courtesy of jmarsden's excellent work.

However, I'm running it and the new Xiphos (formerly Gnomesword) on the Ubuntu 9.4 Jaunty beta installed on a separate partition.

I decided not to bother Bibletime 1.6.5 and Gnomesword on my copy of Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid since both are working fine and they complement each other real well. Also, to install the later Bibletime and Xiphos, you have to also uninstall libsword6 and install libsword7.

                  Thanks again for all replies,
                  Jim
