I love the virtual desktops, they really help organize my stuff. I was wondering if there is a plasma widget/applet that allows you to view all your virtual desktops in a scaled down pane on one/all desktops? Essentially so you can see what is taking place on all desktops from a window on any one desktop. For example, if you dropped the Pager widget onto the desktop, you get outlines of all the windows, but you can't actually see what the windows are - I'm looking for something to fulfill the latter part.

 Re: Mini Virtual Desktop Viewer

That does the same thing as the mouse in the corner...I don't want to have to pull attention from my current app & desktop to monitor others. I already use this feature but am looking for a less obtrusive solution.

 Re: Mini Virtual Desktop Viewer

I'd hardly call that a less obtrusive wayOriginally posted by TeunisI think the solution is called the Compiz Cube. (which is what OP is asking for) (which is what OP is asking for)

There's a cube effect in kwin also (in KDE4.2).

I'm not aware of a perfect solution (pager widget with window previews), but the least obtrusive, for me, is the desktop grid (Ctrl+F8 by default, I think)...it's not exactly what you're looking for (since it zooms all desktops, including the one you're working on)

Hopefully an option to show window snapshots/previews will be added to the pager widget.
