    Campcaster

    Hello,

I'm trying to install campcaster on kubuntu intreprid (8.10) and it doesn't work...
I tried from the package source or the .deb (etch and dapper) from the original website www.campware.org/en/camp/campcaster_news/ and I got some errors.
    When I do ./configure it's ok...but when I do make I got this error:

    TypeInfoHelper.cpp: In static member function 'static std::string CppUnit::TypeInfoHelper::getClassName(const std::type_info&)':
TypeInfoHelper.cpp:27: error: 'free' was not declared in this scope
    make[4]: *** [TypeInfoHelper.lo] Error 1
    make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/reso/Desktop/campcaster-1.3.0/src/tools/cppunit/cppunit-1.10.2/tmp/cppunit-1.10.2/src/cppunit'
    make[3]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
    make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/reso/Desktop/campcaster-1.3.0/src/tools/cppunit/cppunit-1.10.2/tmp/cppunit-1.10.2/src'
    make[2]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/reso/Desktop/campcaster-1.3.0/src/tools/cppunit/cppunit-1.10.2/tmp/cppunit-1.10.2'
    make[1]: *** [install] Error 2
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/reso/Desktop/campcaster-1.3.0/src/tools/cppunit/cppunit-1.10.2'
    make: *** [tmp/tools_setup.stamp] Error 2

I think campcaster is not compatible with Kubuntu 8.10, but if someone have an idea how we can install it on Kubuntu 8.10, please show me how I can install campcaster on kubuntu intrepid 8.10.

    Thank you.

Have you tried installing the pre-built packages from Compcasts repostitory?

      Re: Campcaster

Does the pre-build package is a .deb file?
I tried the .deb package from campware and the tar archive and I got always the same errors...it seems that not compatible with Kubuntu Intreprid 8.10 but only for Dapper or Etch

        Re: Campcaster

Did you see the quote on their news page?

Packages for the long-awaited Beta 2 release of Campcaster 1.4 (code-named "Monrovia") are now up on the Campcaster Ubuntu repository. These packages are for testing only, and will only work on Ubuntu Hardy.
I think you're out of luck for awhile. The good news is that was posted December 2, 2008, which means development is still moving forward.
