Upgraded to 8.10, strange bar appeared at the top of the screen after the restart. Bar only appears after logging in to KDE, not at the login prompt. don't even know where to begin troubleshooting. Bar is not clickable and is automatically on top of all windows and the panel (used to have it at the top... until now). Tried playing with screen resizing and the ATI catalyst control center with no luck. Screenshot attached.

Re: grey non-clickable bar at the top of the screen after upgrade

It appears as if you set a screen geometry that is larger than the desktop geometry. What is reported for your display size under K Menu > System Settings > Display > Size & Orientation ?Windows no longer obstruct my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Re: grey non-clickable bar at the top of the screen after upgrade

Sorry, forgot to mention I've looked at that already. It's showing the same 1680*1050@60HZ as it's always been. Just noticed one interesting thing, when I hit expose, the bar disappears while all the windows are being displayed, upon selecting one and getting back to the desktop the bar re-appears.

Re: grey non-clickable bar at the top of the screen after upgrade

Scaled and cropped, just tried changing to all other available options, no change. Wouldn't that option only account for the wallpaper though? This seems more like the gray area is not being recognized as part of the screen.

Re: grey non-clickable bar at the top of the screen after upgrade

As mentioned previously, I've tried resizing to several sizes, the bar persists throughout the change. What may be of note is that the bar always accounts for the same percentage of the screen rather than staying a set physical size when changing resolutions.
