I don't know what I'm doing to cause it, but my Firefox window occasionally turns grey and freezes. I also see a small white window with no legend pop up. Why is Firefox turning grey? (I would guess it has nothing to do with Firefox per se, but just with the keys I accidentally pressed.) How can I get Firefox running again? And what is that small white window all about?

Re: Firefox window turns grey under KDE 4

 @ pwabrahams

I had similar issues since month.... and I just got them solved.

 The problem was:

I have upated to new firefox and new KDE and new java-enginge in the last couple of month.
But in my homedirectly, there was still a local installed java plugin, which messed up firefox.
Causes freezing when new windows should have been opened.

look in the files and folders within your home folder "cd ~" in the directory .mozilla
You may find there a "plugins" directory with "old" plugins installed. Just remove them.
Also removed in the structure other old files...
Best is: only leave your profile.

 Cheers,
 Oliver
