Nedd to get back my desktop

By experimenting with things in my desktop I accidentally x out my desktop window in my screen and now I do not know how to get it back in my screen

Right click on your desktop and click Add Widgets. Then choose the Folder View widget. I'm guessing this is what you are referring to.
