    8.10 WIFI - not working

What's the big secret to get wifi working in 8.10?

System -> Hardware Drivers tells me my Broadcom card is and running.

KNetwork Manager will accept my encryption key will keep defaulting to hexidecimal no matter what I set.

WiFi Radar - I installed this, set it up and it just tells me it can't acquire an IP address...

This worked fine under 8.04. Is WEP and a Broadcom chip asking too much of 8.10?

    Okay got it...

    sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list

    Added:

    # wicd
    deb http://apt.wicd.net intrepid extras

    Then

    sudo apt-get install wicd
