    Ubuntu memory eater

    Hi.
    I am Linux (k)ubuntu 8.10 user.
I'm was start on gnome and now I working on KDE4.2.
I have a small hard disc drive about 18GB memory and I have about 7.4GB free memory. Why Ubuntu eat that much memory from HDD.
If I'll have hard disc with memory 120GB then Ubuntu eat 60GB?:P.

That does seem rather a lot.

When you installed, did you create 2 partitions, 1 for root and 1 for home? If so, you will need to add up the freespace on both of them.
