Fatal grub error during installation of Intrepid

After most of the installation of Intrepid from a DVD was done, I got this:
    Code:
    Unable to install GRUB.

    Executing grub-install(hd0) failed.
    This is a fatal error.
So what do I do now, folks?

    Super Grub Disk: http://www.supergrubdisk.org/

    Or,

    /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc
Copy them out and build your own
    /boot/grub
(with all the GRUB files under it) in your Kubuntu root filesystem
    Then, re-install GRUB using

But then you may have to build your own menu.lst if you don't have one (sudo update-grub).

    Or,

    BUT:

Check the CD and also MD5SUM
