my system specs are
AMD Athlon64 3800+
Asus M2N-E Motherboard
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Ati 4670 VGA
2.5 GB of RAM
Samsung DVD-writer SATA
i inserted the kubuntu livecd ( they have no errors ), and booted from it. i then ran kubuntu from the options.
it proceeded to load all the files etc, and then it said that it was starting KDM, and then it just sits there, doing absolutely nothing, i checked it on Ubuntu releases 7.04,7.10,8.04 as well, in all these, the pc just sits there doing nothing,
In new ubuntu, i know that if it cant find the VGA drivers (which is should ), it automatically reverts to vesa mode. but what i hate is the fact that it just sits there doing nothing, it gives all the screen messages ( when no GUI is loaded ) and i think that it was waiting to load X and never did load it at all. so what can the problem be?
