kubuntu stops on logon and fresses after upgrade

Hi All:
Did the upgrade had an error got fix with apt-something something can't recall the command and after reboot just goes to login I put in the password it goes to the splash screen and freses and I have to rebbot I am stuck there
ANy one has any ideas? I t would be deeply appreciate it
