Can't you just update beta to final version

I want to download the current version of 8.10 as of Oct 25th 2008. If I do will I be able to update this version to any changes that are made until the final edition is released?

I am not a poster that does not search.
That post is very confusing and the grammer is weird. Wondering if someone was kind enough to just answer the question simply.
