    problems after install crash

    My dist-upgrade to 8.10 crashed last night. An apt-get -f dist-upgrade produces the following error msgs:

    /usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/auto/Locale/gettext/gettext.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Tstack_sp_ptr
    Setting up sed (4.1.5-8) ...
    /usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/auto/Locale/gettext/gettext.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Tstack_sp_ptr
    dpkg: error processing sed (--configure):
    subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 127
    dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of lsb-base:

    Is it worth (are you able to try) rebooting back to an earlier kernel and doing it again.l...or have you gone too far down the upgrade route?

    I had to do this yesterday after messing some settings up and went back into recovery mode and undid my damage!
    Running Kubuntu Karmic Koala&nbsp; with KDE 4.3 at home<br /><br />Kubuntu user 24342<br /><br />Running Dell Inspiron 530 Dual Core 3ghz<br /><br />and also running Kubuntu on a Lenovo thinkpad using a live pen drive<br /><br />Still no Microsoft here!
