Dell Studio 1555 - CD Eject Key not working

    Hi all,

I was hoping that somebody may be able to point me in the right direction to continue researching this issue. Recently received my laptop and have Kubuntu 8.10 installed. I am slowly working through the issues and have now come to a problem with the CD eject key. There is a fix on the web and it involves editing the sysctl.conf file however this did not work for me. Any pointers about how to start tracking this issue down would be appreciated,

    Cheers

Don't know if this is the problem, but once you have mounted the cd you will be unable to eject it until you have unmounted it.

In the device notifier at the right hand side of the taskbar, highlght the cd and then click the little icon to the right. That should unmount it and enable you to eject it.
