    Ethernet problem

    Hi All
    Got a strange problem happening with my Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS Skt 939 ,booted up only to find there was no internet connection. Router said I was connected, but no go . Anyway I had a NIC card so chucked that in and connected no worries.Next day booted up ....no connection I thought thats it then, the board has had it .One last try connected the cable back in the ethernet port (onboard) ...and connected
    Now its hit and miss which one works. One day the NIC will work the next time the on-board will. Dont know if its a matter of time before it just stops connecting.Tried disabling the MAC lan in the bios but then neither works.
    Anyone heard of this kind of problem ? is this a problem with the board or the OS I have been running Ubuntu/Kubuntu for a long time now and had no problem, is there anything I can do or should I look for a new board ? ....skt 939 boards seem to be rare (anyone got one spare let me know (UK)

    What does it show you if you run the ifconfig command in your konsole?

        Well it looks like it was my router that was the problem. Changed the the router and I have had no problems for the last few days

            Hi Andy
            Yep everything seems fine right now . Updated so I guess I'm running KDE 4.2 final. Just got to do a bit of tweaking to get everything just the way I like it.
            Normally I run Ubuntu 8.10 just wanted to try out KDE 4.2 ,been disappointed with Kubuntu in the past but I'm really pleased with how things are going so far.

              i am trying at the mo at work on a pen drive and it is really good....wondering about ditching 8.04 now at home too however there are a few gaps still left on jaunty alpha on my pen drive...I could never even get 8.10 working except in safe graphics mode

              might leave it a bit longer perhaps til the jaunty package is complete
