    During Sutdown/Restart/LogOff Black screen

    Hi,

Recently everytime I shut down it does not shut down automatically. It just stays on a black screen. I have to manually push the off button for my laptop to turn off. Any of you guys have any idea why this is happening?

If you figure it out, let us know. I had it working only once. The system shuts down okay, but the process does not 'power down' the laptop.

      Solved.

      sudo update-grub

I realized it started happening when I uninstalled StartUp-Manager so I realized it had something to do with my bootloader.

Also, sorry for double posting but I would like to add another fix I realized. Because even when I updated grub there are odd one or two occassions where the screen blacked out when I shut down.

Go to your System Settings > Session Manager > and Change the default shutdown option to Turn off computer instead of a new session.
