      Copy the command from the forum, and paste it into your terminal. There is no space in the
      Code:
      apt-get
      part of the command.

        Thanks, Dibl, for pointing me here. I did those three command lines suggested and installed camorama before doing the last command line. Got this message after doing the last line
        (camorama:5645): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_entry_set_text: assertion `text != NULL' failed

        What does that mean?
        And is that why, although the camera now works on camorama, my orange settee is now bright blue? Also, Skype just dies when I try to test the camera now. Ah! if I close camorama and THEN test the camera on skype, I'm back to the green noisy screen!
        Hmmmmm, but it is progress.

        Ah! If I change the last word in the command from camorama to skype, then my camera works perfectly in skype! But only if I open it from the command line.
        I'm only here so often because I'm too blinking lazy to learn shell!
