    Chromium browser on 8.04

The Ubuntu documentaion just says Chromium is available in the 10.04 universe repository. Why is the Chromium browser not available for 8.04? Is there some problem with that combination? I would like to know before I get the .deb.

Ubuntu itself did not start packaging Chromium until Lucid. And for the most part, you do not get NEW software versions for older versions of the OS in the official repos. (Firefox updates for all versions is a new - and great- thing but is an exception to this)

https://edge.launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+archive/ppa is your place to go
or I believe that google's own official Chrome packages might provide Hardy versions.

Thanks claydoh. They've got a couple of generic Linux versions on the Google Chrome site. I just installed the .deb and it looks pretty good.
