No minimized programs

I just recently installed Kubuntu. My task bar does not show minimized programs. I can see them when I hover above the desktop icon, but I can't get to them.
The only thing that shows them is Kasbar, but that takes up more room on the screen.
any ideas?

Try right clicking the panel, add applet and then choose 'taskbar'.
If it's already there, right click it, configure panel and in 'taskbar' section at the bottom off the list, and let us know what the options are set too. I have 'show only minimised' and 'show window list' off, and 'sort alpha' and 'show icons' on.
