    JACK upgrades

I'm an amateur musician wanting to start my own little music recording using Kubuntu (forget about installing Ubuntu Studio -i'm happy with my KDE desktop, thanks ) . Hardy repos do have JACK and the associated applications but they are old versions and i really don't want to start compiling them all in order to get the latest versions.

What do i have to add to my sources list in order to get the latest JACK and company ?

    thanks

    Re: JACK upgrades

Have you tried to download it from http://packages.ubuntu.com/ ?

You can find the version jackd 0.109.2, that I think is the most recent (see http://jackaudio.org/), on the website
    http://packages.ubuntu.com/
where you can find in general a lot of debia packages.

    See in particular: http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/jackd

(from the homepage, search "jackd" and you'll find all the available versions).

Then you have to downoload the debian package (PAY ATTENTION to the dependencies: you must have or download ALL the other necessary packages (marked by red led)).

After downloading all the necessary debian packages, you install them using dpkg (in the correct order, according to the dependencies!)

In practice, you have to do manually what adept manger does automatically, that is check the dependencies.

It is a quite long task, but in general it works, let me know.
