Just switched to Kubuntu 8.04, goodbye Windows! Well anyway keep losing screen after a few reboots and unable to bring back up, I installed all the updates, with nothing out of the ordinary. This time I refrained from installing the updates and now awaiting the results. Installed on Compaq C727us laptop with 1G Ram and 120 drive. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!!!

try entering console with [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [f1]
thenthen tell me what happens. It seems to me that the kernel was updated and graphics drivers were not.Code:sudo killall kdm gdm X;startx
