Is this possible? If you dont understand what I mean, is it possible to have KDE 3.5.9 and 4.1 installed in the same kubuntu installation but not have 4.1 programs show up when im using 3.5.9 and vice versa?

No, you cannot do this without having the menu bloat. The same thing happens if you install Gnome alongside KDE. Installing KDE4 is just like installing Ubuntu/Xubuntu alongside Kubuntu, and I don't know of any easy solution for this annoyance. I just used the kde3 menu editor to drag all my unwanted items into a subfolder for each categorySelf-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon
