getting Ipod 160g Classic to work with Amarok

I recently bought a Ipod 160g classic. I plug it in and I get a Ipod icon on the desktop but I can't view any music files or add podcasts.

I already config'd it go thru the apple ipod in the configuration.

    Thanks for any advice

Plug in and mount your ipod. Then open Amarok, and open the settings. On the devices tab, click autodetect. It should detect your ipod if it didn't detect it before. Then exit settings, and on the devices tab of the main window, you should be able to see the files on your ipod.

Or, alternatively, as a poor man's solution, you can add the ipod's iPod control/Music folder to your music collection. But if you do that, you should make sure that your ipod is mounted every time you start Amarok, or make it not delete the collection entries that it doesn't find.
