That's due to a bad mail system set up by the ISP bouncing the Spam.
Even a half wit should these days know virtually all spam is send by/from faked addresses and just drop the Spam mail instead of bouncing it to the innocent.
Often a 'feature' introduced by (MS instructed) click drones that don't understand the concept of their work.
