How to make GUI fonts consistent

Having changed the fonts in appearance settings to Tahoma, how do I ensure that GUI fonts in applications like Synaptic package Manager are consistent with those in appearance settings?

    Many thanks.

As programs like Synaptic (a gtk-based app) generally do not use KDE's settings for fonts, it may be hit-or-miss for you. You can make sure that you check and tweak the things under "GTK Styles and Fonts" section under "appearance". However, some programs may not honor these settings. I don't currently have Synaptic installed, so i cannot say what may work or not.
