Ripping CDs to MP3 automatically in KDE4 (no prompt when CD inserted)

    Hi All,

I've got a big CD collection I would like to rip, and I want to just be able to drop a CD in and have it automatically rip it to a predefined location. Currently, there seem to be a lot of problems with this:

    - I don't get any kind of prompt when a CD is inserted.
    - When I go to "audiocd:/" there's no MP3 option.
    - I don't appear to have any cd ripping programs installed under "multimedia".

I know that's a lot of things to deal with, and I would really appreciate your help.

    Thanks.

Hi, to rip CD to mp3 files is very easy, you only need to insert CD onto your computer and then record it as mp3 by the use of Streaming Audio Recorder. Sorry I haven't any experience in KDE4.

@Kaelyn29 Unfortunately "Streaming Audio Recorder" is a Microsoft Windows program and not a Linux program...

@passive I use the Terminal program "mpg123". I just enter into the Terminal "ripit". That's it.It saves to my home directory and I move it to by "music" folder.
