Kooka is a little .... errrr .... cuckoo

Kooka does a marvelous job detecting (1) my PVR-150 TV card and (2) my Logitec QuickConnect webcam. I've never attempted scanning from a TV card -- who knew?

What it doesn't find is my Epson Perfection 6400 USB scanner! :P

Just getting this out so others aren't shocked. Hopefully scanner detection will get fixed before April.

from what I read, assuming i understand correctly, is that the "old" udev-rules method of setting up and defining devices/permissions/etc has changed to something more automagical, and unfortunately, broken for scanners currently

yeah, I gave up on it last week when trying to ocr scan a document.
Since could not found other alternative, had to re-type the document. sucks

well, sometime in the last week or so, and new hardy kernels and such, scanning has started working again

I'll try it tonight and confirm -- I hadn't tried it since I originally posted this.

Hey, this is progress! Kooka found my PVR-150 AND my Epson scanner -- very nice!

BTW, there appears to be no new Kooka for KDE4, at this point. The one and only Kooka in the repo is 3.5.9. But it works, so I'm happy!
