If you are forwarding ports manually, make sure to disable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) in aMule's connection settings.

You may get better results if you configure aMule to use high port numbers. I typically use port numbers between 40000 and 50000. At least in my experience, trying to use the so called standard ports is a waste of time.

http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/..._and_HighID.3F Read very carefully, but note that you don't have to use the same port numbers listed there.

ive already opened ports on my router

      i opened 3 ports
      62200 ed2k
      62201 kad
      62203 u-pnp

i used the portcheker from portforwarding.com
it says all 3 are open but i still have my kad firewalled

downloaded the server list from peerrates.net
      and the nodes.dat

      but still no result

Re: I cant open ports for amule

I only have two ports forwarded on my router for aMule, and it works fine. I do not forward the UPnP port at all because I don't use UPnP and have disabled it on my router. (UPnP on routers is exploited by some Windows malware.)

In the aMule GUI window, look in Preferences -> Connection and forward these two ports on your router:
        • Standard client TCP port
        • Extended client UDP port

Also in Preferences -> Connection, look for Universal Plug and Play. Disable (uncheck) Enable UPnP. (Remember, you don't need UPnP at all because you are forwarding ports manually.)

As for KAD being firewalled, in my experience it will fix itself after you give the client enough time. The only firewall on Kubuntu being iptables you would check there to ensure those ports are not blocked. I have never needed to configure iptables at all for aMule.

If your problems persist, and no one else here volunteers to assist you, then I encourage you to seek support through aMule's official channels (in order of preference):
