How to change the Bluetooth manager

    Hi,
when I plug in my bluetooh adapter, kbluetooth4 is started. Unfortunately, I could not make KDE's bluetooth manager to share my mobile's internet connection, therefore I had to use blueman (http://blueman-project.org/), which instead worked flawlessly. Now, I would like that when I plug in the adapter, the blueman applet is started instead of the KDE one. How can I do it?

    Thanks in advance.

idk for sure but did you look in system settings->default applications either threre or in advanced (its in the same spot you can set your network backend) just not as my kubuntu machine right now. its for sure in system settings but i think you will need to install blueman first.

Thanks. I found it in settings/advanced/hardware, but blueman is not listed, therefore I could not change it

have you installed blueman? if so you prolly need to edit the start up scripts or maybe just manuall envoke it the first time i am not sure but i will be tying myself on my laptop so i can use my phone as a modem (we finally have 3G connection here so now it might be worth it)

if i make ne progress i will post ne thing helpful here.

          Hi,
yes, I installed blueman and I can invoke it from the command line. It works just great.

Let me know your progress. Unfortunately I am not very into kde scripts and alike.

Re: How to change the Bluetooth manager

you can have it run automatically very easy (and w/ no scripting..)
            system settings-> advanced -> autorun
            click add program
            type in
            Code:
            blueman-applet
            and hit ok.
it will pop up w/ a box to confirm everything (showing the file info)
and then when plugin your bluetooth it will work w/ blueman (but kdebluetooth will still start)
but you can just remove it with synaptic. to resolve the issue.
but you will need to have blueman running (i tested with my usb bluetooth for hotswap w/ no issues)
