    bad network manager update?

Well, I hate to say it but... today i was greeted by a update for network manager and since that update i have had nothing but problems.

it works for a little while then Firefox will lock up/ crash. Filezilla is not tranfering files as it was b4 update it would upload @ 300KB/s now im lucky to see 20KB/s and if the upload is a few MB in size filezilla will lockup/crash.

also my IRC client is having a hard time staying connected. (lag meter used to hang at around 1 sec, now after about 10 mins will go through the roof and finally ping time out)

so not shure what this network manager update was but i shure do not like it.

*and as far as the wireless router its working perfect. same sig i allways get and i tested to see if it was the router was acting up and i was able to sit with the lappy with no drops/crashes for now 5 hours.

Check your /etc/network/interfaces file. Unless you have an unusual setup, it only needs the following entries:

    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback

If your file contains more than this then you should consider editing it (as root) and removing the 'extras'.

in that the effects of knetworkmanager have destroyed half of the new year for me, maybe you can explain why anyone would have it at all? i just deleted it and now all works well. what service does it perform for you?
