    realtek RTL8187B_WLAN_Adapter halfway working

HI my realtek RTL8187B_WLAN_Adapter when I first installed Kubuntu was not being detected at all under Knetwork Manager however now (somehow I dont know why) Knetwork manager shows

    "Wireless networks"
    "no wireless networks found"

and also the "Connect to other wireless networks" option

These werent there before so now i guess ubuntu is reading my card. However I cannot scan for networks nor can I connect to networks (secured or unsecured)

I'm having a similar problem with my RTL8187b

I don't get a "Connect to wireless networks" option though.

It says I've got the wlan adapter. and an ethernet one(Which I'm on now)

    Some help would be nice

Well this is what I did to get my RealTek 8185 working, don't know if your initial setup differed :/

sudo apt-cdrom add - Add repos off CD
sudo ndiswrapper -i ~/drivers/drivername.inf - Download XP driver off their homepage and locate in terminal, then run the following command (after using Adept to install ndiswrapper + utils)
sudo depmod -a (load driver into memory)
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper (load driver into memory)
kdesu /usr/lib/kde4/bin/kate /etc/modules + add ndiswrapper to the end (Load at boot)
