I recently began using Kubuntu for my daily computer needs and have been surprised by how much seemed to just work. I have only one problem and that is my wireless network connection. I have tried many different wireless monitors and none of them have worked. They seem to fail during the DHCP configuration. I am easily able to connect to my neighbors networks (unsecured
, but when I try to connect to my own, I am unable to. Using KNetworkManager, I progress to 28% (I have seen this error elsewhere, but none of the solutions helped me.) My neighbors have unsecured networks, but mine is under WEP, so this might be the problem. I can succesfully hardwire to the router if I need to. I have already edited my interfaces file.
I have an Inspiron E1405 Dell laptop.
My router is a Belkin #F5D8230-4 pre-N.
You can see my wireless card below.
I will now post the output of the commands I find relevant.
If any of you have any ideas to help me, I would be greatful. I will be glad to give you more information you need..
