I've tried on and off for a lifetime to get this to work in previous versions. I updated to Heron and it just works... yay!!
I had to blacklist p54usb and rt73usb I think in order for it to go, but the rate is only 11MB and slowly decreases until becoming 'unknown' after about an hour.
I tried 'iwconfig wlan0 rate 54MB' but this didn't do anything - would that work or is there a different command?
