kde 4.2 folder view plasmoid missing

I removed the plasmoid packages through synaptic before upgrading, and after upgrading installed the ones that I could.
But I do not seem to have the folder view plasmoid, how do I fix that?
It is not in the add widget list, and I can not get my desktop type to anything other than default desktop containment, the folder view type option is not there.
I have not found any other threads about the folder view being missing.

I switched my window manager from compiz to kwin, and the folder view plasmoid appeared . It wasn't like that before, is this how it has to be now, or is something misconfigured here?

I'm running Compiz on KDE 4.2, and have the default folder view plasmoid on my screen. kdebase-plasma is the only "plasma" package that I see installed.
