    NumLock problem in KDE4

    Hi,
I have Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE4 and the following problem:
the NumLock indicator (light) is on, but the NumLock key is disabled. This happens after every (re)boot. In order to use the keypad (to enter numbers) I have to press the NumLock key 3 times. The first time nothing happens (LED light is still on, but no change), the second press turns the LED light off, but still no activation. The third one turns the LED light on again and activates the NumLock, so then I am able to input numbers on the keypad.
    Strange, isn't it?
I have no access to the NumLock key in BIOS, and it's also not possible to fix this using the KDE control center (NumLock ON / OFF/ NO CHANGE --- I have tried all of them).

    Can anyone help?

System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard -> NumLock on KDE startup

I tried that already. It doesn't work properly.
But maybe I found a solution: a utility called numlockx could solve the problem, I will try to put it into some config file.
