    Re: Battery meter

If you run KDE 4, you can add a battery "widget".

    Right Click on Desktop
    Select Add Widget
    Scroll down to Battery Monitor
    Drag to desktop and configure.

Yes, I'm running KDE4, hence the post to the KDE4 forum. Thanks, that's what I'm looking for. Can this widget run in the taskbar, or does it have to run on the desktop?

        Re: Battery meter

I upgraded to KDE4.1 today and guess what? the battery widget is in the task bar, seems to do it "by default."

I am not sure if you can add it manually in KDE4 to task bar, will do some investigation and let you know if I come across a way to do.

You can place plasmoids on the panel by right-clicking on the panel (instead of the desktop) and choosing 'add widgets'

EDIT: In older versions of KDE 4 (4.0), you can drag widgets from the add widget dialog into the panel.
