    Boot problem

I've suddenly developed a major boot problem - the blue loading bar gets to the end, then i'm dumped back to the black screen with the following message:
    Code:
    /dev/sdb:
Setting advanced Power Management to level OXFE (254)
    HDIO_DRIVE_CMD failed:
    Input/output error.
    running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)
Can someone help me out, Please.

Did you put hdparm commands in your /etc/rc.local?

      Re: Boot problem

I don't know what they are.
The file says (after the commented part):
      Code:
      exit 0
      and ends there.

It seems that Hardy has developed a problem with sdb2, which is odd, since i can access it alright with the Jaunty installation.

You didn't by any chance format /dev/sdb2 as ext4?
