    Hardware problem during upgrade

    During an internet upgrade from kubunto 7.10 to 8.4 my computer crashed because of a hardware fault.
    That is fixed now, but if I try to restart the computer it, it tries to start up into 8.4 but then gives an error that X is not properly installed.

    I downloaded the install cd afterwards, but there doesn't seem to be an upgrade function.

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks,

    Eugene

    Please post the ;

    /var/log/Xorg.0.log ( this file tells you about went wrong, as why X won't work)
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf ( This file is the settings that gives X the settings to use.)
    lspci -v (This file tells us what video card your using) Only copy the part that shows
    your VGA display adapter.
