Motherboard MSI with NVIDIA MCP61 chipset. How to set resolution? (SOLVED!!)

    I'm new to Kubuntu
I have a motherboard type MSI K9N6PGM2 with NVIDIA MCP61 chipset.
I do not manage to change the resolution from 640 x 480 to a higher one.
Any suggestion? Do I need a particular driver?
In case, anyone has the driver for this motherboard ?
    thanks for any help

I am far from an expert, but you may want to try using envyng to install your Nvidia drivers. To install envyng try using

    sudo apt-get install envyng-core envyng-qt envyng-gtk

    or

    sudo apt-get install envyng-core

    for the text version only

    I use the text version

    envyng-t

to remove/install the drivers from Nvidia

Once the installation is complete, the Nvidia logo appears during boot up, and you can easily use the
    > K Menu
    > System (or > Settings )
    > Nvidia X Server Settings
    > X Server Display Configuration

In the X Server Display Configuration box there is a selection for resolution.

The other place you might try is

    >Kmenu
    >System Settings
    >Monitor & Display
