Can't apply changes to display settings in Kubuntu 8.04 remix

I installed Kubuntu 8.04 on my laptop and have an external display attached. It recognizes both displays, but when I try to make changes to the display settings there's no way to save. The 'Apply' button is grayed out. Any ideas on how to get my changes saved? Thanks.

There's a button for administrative mode make sure you click that first and entre the su password
