Compiz/Fusion System Reqs?

I'm running the following:

AMD Sempron 2600+ (1.6Ghz)
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1600 (256 MB)
Sound Blaster Audigy MP3+ (or something)
1GB RAM
SATA HDD's

Will that run compiz/fusion nicely or not?

Should. You have a fast enough processor, but the 'biggie' is the video card. As long as it has 3D support Compiz should run fine.

Great, I wasn't sure about the processor as my system isn't quite up-to-date

My video card isn't that old, mind you its not top of the line anymore.

I'll give it a shot when i reinstall kubuntu.

My laptop sports an Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller which is absolutely no way a 'top of the line' graphics engine. But it drives Compiz just fine. My framerates aren't anything to write home about, but it does the job.

Great.

I tried installing compiz before, but I didn't and still don't know how to do it properly and configure it properly to make it run smoothly, hopefully when i do it this time, everything will go smoothly.
