can't login to kde anmore, please help :) SOLVED

Well I was trying to get Eclipse and Qt4 working.

It said I had to change in system properties appearance gtk to something else.
It was previously set to 'Use kde look in Gtk applications', the other alternative was Qt, so I set that.

Then on the next boot kde stopped loading the gui and I am presented with a main login prompt to login as root, hell I don't even know what the password is for root, I can only login as jean.

And when I try to run kde, by typing kdm, it says only root can run that.

Now what do I do? )

    Jean:

Have you tried logging in as jane and typing startx to get to your desktop and revert the changes?... or instead of kdm try out /etc/init.d/kdm start.

      I'm baaack.

It was something else, I noticed error messages about xorg.conf and a missing screen, I had messed that file up because I was trying to get rid of some undesired behaviour. (my global winkey-shortcut keys often launch programs on the second monitor in stead of the first.)

      So I did a dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and I'm back.

      Thanks.
