    Trash bin max size

    Hi All,

Is there any way to set the maximun size for trash bin.

My disk was full and I've surprised because my trash was using 25 GB.

    TIA.

    JB.

Is there any way to set the maximun size for trash bin.
    At the moment (only wishes):

Bug 111861: Setting trashcan size (wish), full disk due to trash not apparent if icon hidden
    https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111861
t would be nice if one could set the size of trash can (like on Microsoft Windoze) and then... that it would alert one when the trash can is full (as specified by another item on the wishlist).

I discovered my disk is full... and found that the trash can is 3.5 GB. Not so great...

      OOPS!

I'm new to Linux but I guess that a cron that periodically empty trash could solve the problem.

I'm surprised because KDE developers don't take care of this.

      Thanks.

      JB.

        Well -

        Clean Trash

        Description:
If you put this script in a daily cronjob, it will automatically delete all older files than 14 days from your trash.

The combination find and rm does not work, because the trash stores data about the trash items since KDE 3.4. The script does take care of it.

With a little fantasy you can adjust the 14 days setting to anything you like.

            Re: Trash bin max size

I want to either set my trash max size to a very large number (500 Gigs or so) or else remove its limit entirely. Essentially, I don't want to see the trash full error message ever again until my trash folder is occupying 90% or so of my free space. Is there a way?

Edit: forgot to mention, I am on Jaunty.
