 Re: Kubuntu seems laggy today

As TidusBlade said KleanSweep (Homepage: http://linux.bydg.org/~yogin/) is good tool.

 Note from KleanSweep:
You are running KleanSweep with root privileges. Therefore
extreme caution is recommended as improper use may render
your system unusable. Please keep in mind that because KleanSweep
uses simple heuristics, all files suggested for removal should be
 manually reviewed.
 I have been testing:
 Preload - adaptive readahead daemon
preload monitors applications that users run, and by analyzing this
data, predicts what applications users might run, and fetches those
binaries and their dependencies into memory for faster startup times.

Note that installing preload will not make your system boot faster
and that preload is a daemon that runs with root priviledges.
