    Can't stream media

Hi guys, I'm new to KDE with Gutsy but have been using Ubuntu with Gnome since Edgy (still not very long).

My issue is that I can't stream any media from my server via ssh. Any media file I try to open first gets downloaded to a local temporary directory, then gets played.

When trying to do it via Amarok I get:

    Error Loading Media
No suitable input plugin. This often means that the url's protocol is not supported. Network failures are other possible causes.
    fish://babau@192.168.1.3:22/media/sda1/incoming/babau/Peter, Bjorn and John/Falling Out/07 Teen Love.mp3/07 Teen Love.mp3

I've loaded every libxine and codec package I can find but it doesn't seem to have helped.

    Any ideas?

    Re: Can't stream media

Doing some more reading it looks like neither Amarok or Kaffeine supports fish properly. Seriously? Someone please tell me I'm wrong since this is a pretty basic thing to do. One of the things that attracted me to KDE was the promise of wonderfully seamless networking with KIOs. If I have to fall back to sshfs that's not really too seamless.

Especially when it "just works" in gnome.
