PCI error on installation of 7.10 Gutsy with Compaq EVO

I have a compaq EVO P4 1.7 Ghz with 256Megs ram and an 800 Gig drive on IDE plus DVD writter installed.
Also in the box is an Hauppage PVR150 card and a Ethernet NIC card. There is an Ethernet NIC on the motherboard as well.
I get the initial Kubuntu splash screen and then these errors:

[ 50.580790] PCI: Failed to allocate mem resource #6:1000@fe000000 for 0000:01:00.0
[ 51.273689] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(104,1).

Can anyone guide me to what is wrong? Or give me some suggestions?

    Thanks.
    Glenn.
