upgrade to 7.10 gone bad

i'm in need of some help here. i'm attempting to upgrade to Kubuntu 7.10 from 7.04.. but the upgrade tool is stuck at 6% - "configuring libpam0g"



would somebody please advise me on what i need to do next. the upgrade has been stuck at this point for a few hours now.

mine did exactly the same at 5%

I am no pro at this but am impatient, I closed it and rebooted then ran the following command

sudo apt-get -f install

which gave an error afterwards like this

E: dpkg was interupted bla bla run

dpkg --configure -a

reboot and all should be ok

disclaimer, it worked for me, an dwhat do you have to loose?

edit I didnt study the error itself it just hung at 5% so I killed it, your error may be different
